Empower Energy is on a mission to end energy hardship in New Zealand. Empower’s digital platform allows anyone with solar panels to donate their surplus electricity (buy back credit) to those in need.
Hit Squad worked with Empower to develop their product offering, market segmentation, and go-to-market strategy. This included launching a B2C-focused MVP via an earned media (Empower was featured on Seven Sharp) and digital advertising campaign that generated incredibly positive feedback.
At the same time, a B2B-focused offering was developed that enables businesses to set up their own network of solar donors and pool their donations to target a specific cause. This product has the advantage of lowered complexity – a handful of B2B customers rather than thousands of B2C users – and is likely to be the future of the platform.
